Design, when done right, feels invisible.
It vanishes behind comfort, balance, and precision. You experience it without having to notice it—until something within you does notice. A detail, a texture, a subtle alignment that creates the sense that everything is exactly where it should be.
At Opus Garage, these moments aren’t happy accidents. They’re orchestrated.
They are the signature of our design philosophy: Nothing is arbitrary.
And nowhere is that philosophy more evident than in the one component nearly every user will touch: the handle.

A Handle That Doesn’t Interrupt—It Completes
In architecture, a datum is a reference line that organizes and unifies a design, creating a visual rhythm that the eye can follow. At Opus Garage, our handle is more than a functional element—it’s our datum.
Most manufacturers treat cabinet handles as mere accessories, tacked on without regard for the cabinet’s form. They often settle for extruded aluminum—a shortcut that betrays both aesthetics and utility. The extrusion process yields a coarse, porous surface, a magnet for dirt, dust, grease, and grime, undermining the purity a workspace demands. Cut to fit, these handles carry sharp, jagged edges; even when sanded or polished, they remain rough and unfinished, a lingering compromise. Some mask this flaw with flimsy plastic end caps—crude, degrading touches that disrupt the visual flow and cheapen the whole, unfit for a product aspiring to luxury.
We considered chrome-plated handles too, but turned away swiftly.
Their gleam comes at a cost—toxic processes and waste that burden the earth, a price too steep for our vision of responsible craft. There had to be another way.
So we sought a material that could rise above—a union of purpose and grace.
Polished stainless steel answered the call, not for prestige, but for its quiet virtues:
- Non-porous and hygienic. Wipes clean, resists grime, and doesn’t harbor bacteria—perfect for a garage.
- Polished and precise. A mirror-finish that’s beautiful, corrosion-resistant, and timeless.
- PVD-ready. Unlocking a world of finishes—from graphite bronze to brushed obsidian.
This choice was no compromise. Stainless steel is harder to fabricate, more expensive, and demands tighter tolerances. Yet it offered what no other material could: the perfect marriage of performance and poetry. Our tool and die makers rose to the challenge, recessing the handles seamlessly into both drawers and doors, flush with the cabinet face, finished side-profile. No plastic. No visible joins. No sharp edges. Just pure, uninterrupted design.

Discovery, By Design
Step into an Opus Garage and approach any cabinet composition.
Open a drawer.
You won’t just feel the balance—you’ll experience it. The mirror-finished handle spans the full width of the drawer, its proportions tuned to the cabinet’s scale—whether a single drawer or a towering wall of storage. Your hand finds the recessed grip effortlessly, even when greasy or full, reducing strain and making every interaction intuitive.
This is design thinking that prioritizes ergonomics without sacrificing elegance.
The full-width handle isn’t just visually striking—it’s practical, offering a natural, comfortable grip that enhances usability in a space where function reigns.
As you open the drawer, another detail emerges: a subtle, embossed Opus mark on the right inside edge of the handle. Invisible when closed, it’s never garish or applied—it’s a quiet signature, affirming that you’re in the presence of something exceptional. In an Opus Garage, branding isn’t a sticker. It’s a testament to the care woven into every detail.

Nothing Is Arbitrary
What appears to be “just a drawer handle” is, in truth, a cornerstone of our design ethos. A case study in why we believe every detail matters—because every detail contributes to the whole.
A handle that spans perfectly. A line that never breaks. A gesture that says: “This wasn’t added. This was composed.”
This is our signature. And this is your Opus.
